From January 1990 to June 2002, Avonteur Jerseys were in the Camrose Herd of Christopher and Claire Taylor, Heatherbrae Farm, St. John, Jersey. In June 2002, the Camrose Herd was dispersed, as part of the restructuring/downsizing programme implemented by the dairy industry in Jersey. We would like to thank Chris and Claire for their help in keeping "Avonteur Jerseys" going for all those years.

A few of the older Avonteur cows were sold to England with their fellow herdmates. However, all the younger Avonteur Jerseys were retained, and several Camrose youngsters from leading bloodlines were purchased. Since June 2002, Avonteur Jerseys have been placed with Trinity Manor Farm, Trinity, Jersey under the management of Rob Stevenson.

We aim to breed and purchase superior production and type cows, and regularly exhibit at Island shows. We are pleased with the amount of success we have achieved with relatively few animals, and continue a strict policy of selection for functional type and production, as can be seen by the animals above ............... clicking on a photo brings up more details.
