"Cow Sculpture Unveiled"
in celebration of
"2001 The Year of the Jersey"

Sculptor: John McKenna

On Saturday 29th September 2001, the Bailiff of Jersey Sir Philip Bailhache unveiled the sculpture in West's Centre, St. Helier, Jersey. The sculpture is a tribute to the men and women who for generations have developed "La Vaque dé Jèrri" as the supreme dairy cow. The Year of the Jersey Association, under the Presidency of Anne Perchard MBE, has spent two years planning and organising the funding for this project, and their considerable efforts have culminated in a piece of art that will grace St. Helier for many generations to come
