WJCB Annual Meetings held in Switzerland (1st to 10th June 2006)

International Jersey breeders were treated to a wonderful tour of Switzerland and its Jersey herds, and everything was superbly organised and administered by Dr Ruedi Mueller, President of the Swiss Jersey association.

Based in Lucerne, the WJCB annual meetings were slotted in to the programme, and those attending feel that the Bureau is at a very exciting and challenging time in its history, with the demand for Jerseys being at an unprecedented high. The challenge in the coming years will be to ensure that supply of quality Jerseys worldwide can meet the high demand.

New WJCB web site launched - www.worldjerseycattle.com

The newly designed web site of the World Jersey Cattle Bureau was launched on Saturday 29th May during the 2004 Spring Country Fayre.

WJCB Patron, Mrs. Anne Perchard MBE, addressed a crowd of 30+ Jersey enthusiasts, and officially launched the web site by proposing a toast - using Jersey milk, of course!!

Present at the event were WJCB webmasters, Steve & Suzanne Le Feuvre, and Steve gave everyone a quick tour of the site. Suzanne had produced a leaflet promoting the web site, and visitors to the launch were encouraged to take one and to view the site at the leisure.

Distinguished Service Awards presented at WJCB Conference in Denmark

Two Distinguished Service Awards were presented during the conference:

Hans Nørgaard - "in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the research and compilation of the history of the Jersey breed worldwide". Hans' extensive work is published on the Internet in his History of Jerseys Worldwide

Calvin Covington - "in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Jersey breed globally by the promotion of equitable milk pricing"

The 16th International Conference of the World Jersey Cattle Bureau takes place in Odense, Denmark in June and early July 2002.

AJCA registrations - 2001

During 2001 the Ameican Jersey Cattle Association completed 67,403 registrations (up 5.8% from 2000) and 21,656 transfers (an increase of 4.7%). This is the largest number of registrations in a single year since 1958, when 70,384 Jerseys were registered.
